Sensory Integration, Movement, Orientation and Navigation (SIMON) Robot
The SIMON robot facility in the UBC School of Biomedical Engineering is a KUKA KR 500-3 six-axis robotic arm that is specially configured to safely carry human participants. The NC4 lab is collaborating with the laboratories of Drs. Peter Cripton, Calvin Kuo and Jean-Sebastien Blouin to operate the facility.
Our lab will be combining this robotic arm with motion-tracking and VR technologies to investigate how humans integrate multisensory information into a 3-dimensional representation of position and orientation.
